As firstborn, Esau will inherit the birthright when Isaac dies. Esau and Jacob grow into strong but very different men. Esau likes to hunt while Jacob prefers to stay home and farm. Jacob, though, is a schemer and tricks Esau out of both his birthright and Isaac’s blessing. Esau becomes very angry at being tricked, so Jacob runs away to live with his Uncle Laban.
